In automotive, our sustainability work centers on saving lives and improving mobility. In behavioral research, it helps academia and industry understand how people engage with technology, experiences, and content.
Our 2025 Sustainability Report follows EFRAG’s voluntary VSME standard and is built on a double materiality assessment: a structured review of where our operations and the people and environment connected to them have the most impact. This page summarizes that work.
Our sustainability management system
External Standards
We are guided by EFRAG's VSME reporting standard and align with internationally recognized frameworks on human rights, labor, the environment, and anti-corruption. Our contribution is most direct where our technology reduces harm — safer roads and safer, better-informed research.
Internal governance
Our sustainability work is governed by group-wide policies, clear areas of responsibility, and targets we monitor. The Board approves the materiality assessment and oversees strategy and targets; the CEO owns execution; the CFO ensures reporting is accurate and compliant; and the Head of Quality Management maintains our processes and certifications. Policies are reviewed annually. Smart Eye operates an ISO 9001 certified quality management system and is certified under TISAX, the automotive information-security standard based on the principles of ISO/IEC 27001.

Our work is organized around three pillars:

Responsible Innovation
To be a credible partner to customers, employees and society, we hold ourselves to high ethical standards — and ask the same of the people we work with.
Our Code of Conduct sets our position on integrity, customer privacy, and zero tolerance for corruption and discrimination. Concerns can be raised anonymously through our whistleblower function.
Because our software is built with machine learning, we work to reduce algorithmic and data bias — training and validating on a large, diverse dataset spanning more than 90 countries so it performs fairly across cultures and contexts.
Our software processes anonymous behavioral data in real time and doesn’t store sensitive information. We advocate for its use in safe and sustainable applications, and assess business against international embargoes.
Personal data is handled strictly under applicable law, with clear ownership for data protection and GDPR compliance across product development and IT systems.
Business is conducted transparently and recorded accurately, with financial and sustainability reporting compliant with applicable regulations.
Our hardware uses components from established technology partners, assembled by suppliers in Sweden and China; iMotions resells sensors from recommended partners. We expect partners and suppliers to meet the standards in our Supplier Code of Conduct.
